Thermal CleaningJansen Recycling BV's thermal cleaning system in Son is designed to remove harmful components from contaminated waste via pyrolysis. The cleaned, fine and coarse-grained mineral end products can be sold as aggregate for asphalt and (prefabricated) concrete or supplied for direct use in groundwork, road and hydraulic engineering projects.
The preparations for setting up the system at the processing site in Son are well under way. At the moment, we can already process the following:
• Tar-containing asphalt
• Tar-containing/bituminous roof waste
• Other waste substances suitable for thermal processing
STAREC
Jansen Recycling BV's thermal cleaning project is registered under the name STAREC with EACI (Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation). Jansen Recycling BV's objective for this project is the market introduction of a new innovative technique with which heavily polluting waste flows can be responsibly recycled.
The targeted results of STAREC:
• Reduction of hazardous and harmful waste flows - the use of thermal cleaning to recycle
in an environmentally aware manner.
• Useful application of residual heat - the generation of energy to supply electricity to the
national grid and to power the thermal cleaning operation.
• Reuse of residual substances.
• Establishing a method for processing heavily polluting residue flows that has a reduced
environmental impact.
• Alternative and innovative solution for Europe.
